NUCLEAR PLANT ... Why continue?
Brazil is a tropical country with continental dimensions, space and ideal conditions for the development of large projects of renewable energies (wind, solar, waste and others). So why the Brazilian government insists invest in nuclear power? Unlike most developed countries that have decided to stop investing in this font dangerous.

May 2013, new auction of blocks for oil exploration
The news published:
This is my comment on this matter, directed to the Columnist Miriam Leitão and your readers:
Do not get excited ... in May, if it happens, will be auctioned only blocks on land (onshore) and in shallow waters (offshore) ...
Already, the biggest and best blocks, ie, all of the pre-salt, only will be auctioned in 2014 and 2015, and these will be reserved for Petrobras and for the Consortiums formed by Petrobras and friends of the King (or of the Queen) ... Got it?

Wind Energy in Highway, a good idea for Brazil
In a country with continental dimensions and predominantly connected by highways, as is the case in Brazil, wind turbines installed along roads may be a great idea, especially for the modernization of the Brazilian roads, through public-private partnerships or public concessions.

Provision of Services of Staff Outsourcing ... Caution!
The two major companies in the oil and mining of the Brazil are the biggest contractors companies of outsourced labor.
However, these outsourced services, due to strong competition in the market place, are almost always contracted by very low values, and by criterion of the lowest price. Consequently, the outsourcing companies haven't manage to finalize their services during the terms of their contracts, due to accumulated losses and / or of the excessive rigor of the internal rules of these contractors companies, incompatible with the values of the contracted services.
If your company is experiencing this situation? We are at your disposal to help. Ok?
Ok?

Current and divergent news ...
1) In the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, Rio +20, the FIESP (Federation of Industries of Sao Paulo State) argued that Brazil have to give priority to hydropower, and stop, at least for now, investments in solar energy. This week, a similar concern was highlighted by ABRACE (Brazilian Association of Large Industrial Energy Consumers) ...
2) The Brazilian government is not willing to make hirings of solar plants. The revelation comes from the Competitiveness Council on Renewable Energy. The organ, attached to the Ministry of Mines and Energy, says that the issue of auction-specific solar energy is the cost. Today, the benefit does not outweigh the cost, in view of terms most competitive sources ...
3) Behind the potential of microgeneration, European companies of the sectors of wind and photovoltaics are coming and opening branches in Brazil to host their business in Latin America. What more attracts investors are favorable locations and market potential, that go against the European crisis and cuts in subsidies to clean energy ...

Solar energy in Brazil, very close to becoming reality.
Today, there's already more than 1 GW of solar projects in development and licensing in Brazil, waiting for the first auction of this energy source. These are initiatives of local companies in partnership with others, European, American and Asian, who are predicting a generation rate between US $ 120 and $ 140 / MWh for the first auction.
According to experts in this sector, the cost to develop and license a solar project and prepare it fully to participate in the auction can reach the figure of US $ 45,000 / MW. However, these experts predict that these projects will achieve great value when these auctions were already confirmed.
They also believe that there will be a great demand for full projects and able to participate in these auctions, and that these projects will be sold at prices higher than US $ 200,000 / MW.

Good News for the Clean Energy Sector of Brazil
According to the Ministry of Mines and Energy, Brazil will not start building any new nuclear plant by 2021, and this term should be extended until 2030.
The priority is development and growth of the country's energy matrix through expansion of hydroelectric generation, doubling of wind power installed, and implementation of solar energy (PV) in short term.

In the shadow of Brazilian Sun, the competition has already begun ...
RIO ALTO ENERGIA has a project ready and licensed of 50 MW of "Concentrated Solar Power", supplemented by Biomass generation, located in Coremas in the state of Paraiba, waiting for the first Solar Auction of the Brazilian Government in 2013.
This project was developed with a mix concept of generation, ie, produce Solar energy during the day and of Biomass during the night, and with a capacity factor greater than photovoltaics.
With this concept of generation, RIO ALTO intends to sell energy in the Government Auction for a price of approximately R$ 180 / MWh (US $ 95 / MWh), ie, well below the R$ 300 / MWh (US $ 158 / MWh) estimated for solar photovoltaics.
The total investment of this project will be for approximately R$ 400 million (US $ 210 million) and the earthworks of the land have already begun.
Congratulations to RIO ALTO, for this initiative ...

Microgeneration - The Sun began to shine in Brazil ...
Approved by ANEEL, last week, the Normative Resolution 482 of the Microgeneration of Renewable Energy (<1 MW) will boost mainly the development of the market for photovoltaic solar energy in Brazil, while the Brazilian government doesn't perform auctions of this energy source (planned for 2013) which will enable implementation of larger generation projects (>1 MW).

The Oil and Gás Opportunities in Brazil
The
demand for new businesses and services specializing in the Sector of Oil and
Gas in Brazil is enormous and the Brazilian and foreign companies that are
already installed and working here aren't able to carry out such a volume of
services.
Both
Petrobras and its main suppliers and partners, as ONIP (National Organization
of the Petroleum Industry, the association that aggregates the interests of
others major operators of this sector in Brazil) are demanding new and large
businesses and service contracts with recurrence, mainly due to development of
prospecting and exploration of the pre-salt.
Thus,
we are seeking new alternatives of companies specializing in Oil and Gas, in
North America, Europe and Asia, to provide services to Petrobras and its
suppliers, and also for companies associated with ONIP.

Is it real ? The excess energy of Brazilian distributors
The Brazilian government has postponed upcoming auctions A-3 and A-5 based on information that the distributors are with excess energy (?) ...
In my opinion, the government took this decision based on a very short-term scenario , for the sector.
Let's see ... Who is of this sector knows that there are many projects that will not start operation and production within the contracted period ... The excess energy informed by the distributors are a misguided result of a portfolio of projects that only should go into operation in the coming years ... But that, in significant part, will not start production ... ANEEL knows how many power plants (termal, wind, hydro and others) are lagging behind in their schedules or will not be able to start operation for other reasons ... Finally, this excess energy informed (?) Can turn into a défcit quickly ...
Brazil, to maintain their sustainable growth, needs at least 4 GW per year, within the current market conditions, and if the Brazilian industrial sector grow again, as expected, the annual demand of 4 GW is totally insufficient.

1st Solar Auction in Brazil, will hire up to 400 MW ...
The EPE (Energy Research Company of the Brazilian Government) in their study of generating solar photovoltaic, delivered to the MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy), suggested holding an auction to hire up to 400 MW, with a price ceiling of R$ 260 per MWh (approximately USD 145 per MWh). This value has received approval from Brazilian and foreign companies of the solar industry, since it combined with a tax exemption or other form of subsidy to be offered by the Brazilian Government, through the CDE (Energy Development Account).
The moment is of development of photovoltaic solar projects ... Who doesn't to start develop will lose this great opportunity.

The Brazilian Competitive Free Market in Energy
A new trader of energy, BBCE, went into operation and has held its first negotiations on the free market of electricity.
The BBCE will compete with the BRIX (other great trader of energy) in the purchase and sale of electricity, between trading agents and consumers, and it estimates negotiate 1500 MW an average per month in their first semester of operation.

In Brazil, the sun is getting hotter ...
With the prospects for regulatory confirmed, and the possibility to occur the first auction specific solar energy in 2012, and with government subsidies, the energy market is getting very agitated.
As a result, new projects are beginning to be developed, and large international companies are already making alliances in this sector. The most publicized example is the alliance between GE and MPX (a company of Brazilian billionaire, Eike Batista), to expand your solar farm (the first solar farm constructed and in operation in Brazil), located in the state of Ceara.

Energy in Brazil - March auction will feature 598 new projects
On March 22, 2012, the auction "A-3" will be held for Brazilian government to the dispute of power purchase agreements (PPA), long-term.
598 new projects for power generation were accredited for this auction, of which 524 are wind projects. The government agency (ANEEL) established tariff ceilings for this auction, for R$ 112 / MWh for wind farms and R$ 82 / MWh for the expansion of hydroelectric plants.
Note: The entrepreneurs of this sector considered very low the values of these tariff ceilings, and believe that few projects will be credentialed , as has occurred in the last auction of generation.

In BRAZIL, the SUN is heating up ...
The Energy Research Company (EPE), planning agency of the Ministry of Mines and Energy of Brazil (MME), is finalizing the study on photovoltaic solar energy. This study will present proposals to boost the development of this source in the country, both in the area of distributed generation, with small panes in homes and industries, as in larger plants.
This study will also present simulations of the government incentives that may be given to this source so that it can gain competitiveness and participate in energy auctions.
In addition, the solar microgeneration is under study by the National Agency of Electrical Energy (ANEEL), and proposes an exchange between customer and distributor, ie, the energy produced by solar panels would be measured and valued, and deducted from the invoice charged to the consumer.

Wasting Opportunities ...
We have been approached by many foreign companies interested in the great potential of the solar market in Brazil. However, all just want to sell solar panels and other products of its manufacture.
To these companies, we've always said that we need of companies interested in come to Brazil to participate in the development of the solar sector and take advantage of the first opportunities that are emerging. Then these companies could to begin to gain a position in this specific market.
The opportunities have appeared. See the cases of the Maracana stadium, Eletrosul buildings and others. So who want to sell solar panels in Brazil, only, is wasting a precious time.
